What is it?
Add a simple popup to your website that gets shown to users when they appear to be leaving your site. Before the user has time to click another tab or enter a new URL, they’re drawn back into your site.
This is typically achieved by identifying when their mouse pointer moves away from the browser window and triggering the popup to be displayed.
Why this works
Re-engages users as they’re about to leave, and could allow you to capture their email address to avoid losing them.
Things to consider
Allow users to dismiss, and remember this with a cookie, so that users don’t have to close it every time. These popups can be a bit annoying, so ensure that you’re offering something of value. You may want to avoid combining this with too many other on-page offers and popups to avoid your site feeling spammy.
